The Failure Formula: How to live in what you love!

I know this title made you tilt your head sideways and you probably clicked on the link to see just what the h@*# I’m talking about. You see, I travel all over the world speaking and coaching others on how to start or grow their businesses. I work with start ups as well as more established and larger companies and I find more often than not they all share some of the same issues. Now, I’m fortunate enough to have had some very successful businesses myself but I also took a long time figuring out what I wanted to be when I grew up. It took me 11 years and 7 Universities to get two degrees. I did 6 years in the U.S. Army and I have had multiple professions over the years before I finally decided I needed to learn how to create wealth and I chose Real Estate as my first wealth creation vehicle. I then went on to start other businesses and then was given the opportunity to become a Business Coach and eventually a Speaker and created multiple products and trainings that I have spent 15 years delivering to 10’s of thousands of people all over the world.

So what’s my point? My point is that I made a habit of trying and trying, failing and failing, making mistake after mistake but in the end, I was able to find out and spend the rest of my life (hopefully there’s a lot of that left!) doing what I love and making an impact on others to the point that they are able to make an impact on others. My point is that you will never live in what you love unless you realize what you’re doing wrong or maybe it’s more of what you can do differently or better to be able to have the opportunity to do what you love and make a living and impact doing it. For some of us, we may need smacked upside the head with what will absolutely lead us to failure:

  1. Do nothing
  2. Try nothing
  3. Expect nothing
  4. Feel entitled
  5. Say nothing
  6. Be nothing
  7. Never fail

I thought about explaining each of these but I think you would agree with me when I say that they are way too obvious to waste your time or mine going into detail. Maybe you were guilty of one or any of these things or maybe you are living in more than one or all of them for some reason. I wrote this article to make you think about where you can change your mindset to move away from failure or the fear you have of success. Some people are so afraid of failure they avoid success at every turn. I want to challenge you to work in and live in what you love so that you can make an impact in your life as well of the lives of the people you love the most and yes even a complete stranger.
